My thoughts
This kit contains four coordinated eyeshadows to create a deep sultry smokey eye look. You can see a step-by-step guide written inside when you open it. I would have loved this kit if I were a teenager because first the guide tells you very simple instructions you can follow to create a basic smokey eye and second the book-like packaging seems quite appealing. The kit is very handy and contains tiny sponge applicators if you have no brushes.

Talking about the eye shadows, the texture and pigmentation isn’t bad but compared to other dirt cheap palettes available on the market, this one doesn’t impress me much. As shown in the swatches, the colors build up nicely with a couple of swipes but you definitely need a primer for more intensity,  to prevent creasing and fading.

I like Shadow 1; it looks very natural but appears sheer on my skin tone so I apply concealer over my lid to even out the skin before applying it. Shadow 2 and 3 have tiny shimmer specs in them that fall out during application. I also noticed that Shadow 2 feels a bit gritty to touch which is why it’s my least likeable shade from the quad. Shadow 4 is a matte black that gets intense with layering. Unlike MUA eye shadows, the texture lacks the butter-y property and blending consumes more time comparatively. The key to a good smokey eye is blending so you need to be patient.

Overall, it’s a decent kit for a beginner. However, for the price, there are some other brands now available in Pakistan that offer more colors in one palette and better texture for the same price.

You might like it if...
  • You expect decent pigmentation
  • You want a pocket-friendly smokey eye kit
  • You expect them to be buildable
  • You want both matte and shimmer shades in a quad
  • You're looking for a travel-friendly kit
You might not like it if...
  • You expect a soft texture
  • You can't tolerate glitter fall outs
  • You expect quick blending
