My thoughts
Lip gloss pencil is fairly a new concept I suppose. At least, I wasn’t aware of it until I met these. Lip Flash is definitely not for the faint-hearted. I personally love bold lips so I was eager to try them out.

For a lip gloss, the pigmentation is off the hook! It’s ten times better than a regular lip gloss. Flash Light is a soft coral with orange shimmer while Photo Flash is a bright pink-red with fuchsia shimmer. They go on velvety smooth and give semi-opaque to full coverage. Yes, they are highly pigmented but I do require a couple of layering to make Flash Light fully opaque. The best thing about them is that they’re quite moisturizing. I don’t need to condition my lips before application which adds to the pros.

Even though they’re promoted as lip glosses, don’t expect a glossy shine from them BUT you can see lots of tiny shimmer specs which of course is something off putting for shimmer haters. Thankfully, the shimmer doesn’t transfer but it might feel tinge gritty after an hour or two as they fade. The color doesn’t feather or budge for good three hours on my lips. They do feel somewhat tacky but it’s nothing bothersome. Since it’s a jumbo sized pencil, you’d need a large-hole sharpener. I suggest putting them in the fridge for a while before you attempt to sharpen just to steer clear of any mess.

If you dig metallic sheen of sparkles and are looking for some full coverage BOLD lip colors, you will definitely love them. If that's not your cup of tea, pass on these.

You might like it if...
  • You expect good pigmentation
  • You expect it to be moisturzing
  • You expect creamy/easy application
  • You expect good lasting power
  • You are into bold sparkle-y lip colors
You might not like it if...
  • You think the pencil gets messy upon sharpening
  • You don't fancy the metallic sheen of shimmer
  • Bold/flash-y lips are not your thing
