I know these have been reviewed by many bloggers from around the globe but I just thought I'd share my views on it.

Jumbo Eye Pencil
A radiant eye liner that also doubles as an eye shadow. Made with a blend of mineral oil and powder, our creamy Jumbo Eye Pencils glide on effortlessly—no pulling, tugging or fading—and come in a rainbow of vivid hues. Some call her chubby. We say voluptuous.

Available in 28 shades.

My thoughts
I totally love the shade range. Jumbo Pencils come in 28 distinct colors which is HUGE! My first Jumbo Pencil was Milk. I think it should be the first one you should get you're trying it out. Hands down Milk is the most versatile of them. It can be used as a base on both the lid and brow, to coat your lashes white for fun makeup look and on the water line to create a wide eye effect (do set with powder).

I have two shades to share with you today. Rocky Mountain Green is a bright emerald green while Purple Velvet is a plum purple. Both the colors give off a slight sheen since they contain fine shimmer. They have a creamy formula similar to cream eye shadow I suppose. They’re soft, glide on smoothly and evenly on a taut lid. I absolutely agree to the no pulling and tugging claim but disagree that it doesn’t fade. The ingredient list shows Bees Wax as its first component which doesn’t prove so good on my oily lids even with primer underneath. They never quite set and remains creamy all through. This is the reason why I can’t imagine using them as a base under eye shadows apart from photo shoots because they crease and smudge after an hour or two. That being said, I do think they work great at intensifying the eye shadows and probably work out better if you have dry lids.

Being a Jumbo Pencil it has a jumbo-sized tip; you can’t do a precise line until it’s sharpened and for that you need to have a double barrel sharpener. Alternatively, you can also use an eyeliner brush for application as they come off easily or depot them if you like. Unlike Milk, the colored ones don’t appear so pigmented on first swipe however a couple of layers would do. I strongly recommend using a primer even if you want to use them as eyeliners. If you have dry lids, you could also try them as eye shadows if you’re seeking a smudge-y look because they blend in together quite well. But remember to apply thin layers otherwise they may turn out cake-y. I have used these on the water line; they don’t irritate or itch but disappear quickly.

All things considered, Jumbo Pencils are not friends with my oily lids. I probably would only use them in my photos. Also for eyeliner, I prefer a matte finish so these don’t strike me much. If you’re into creamy eye liners and have dry to normal lids, these are for you.

You might like it if…
  • You have dry to normal eye lids
  • You expect a smooth and even application
  • You apply it with an eye liner brush (for precision)
  • You want a colored creamy base for less pigmented eye shadows
  • You don’t mind layering it for lining your eyes
You might not like it if…
  • You have oily eye lids
  • It creases on you after a couple of hours
  • You expect it to stay put over the water line
  • You expect intense pigmentation on first swipe
  • You skip using an eye shadow primer
