My thoughts
I really had high hopes for this product as I love Revlon ColorStay Foundation so I was expecting the lip product from this line would appeal to me similarly but to tell you the truth, it’s really disappointing.

The shade is a beautiful soft peach – the kinda shade I adore for a natural lip. It doesn’t get fully opaque on first swipe but I would NOT suggest layering it. Even though it applies smoothly and feels like a thin emulsion, after a few seconds it makes my lips feel dreadfully stiff. It dries fast and sets to a cakey cracked finish that accentuates my lip lines horribly. On top of that, it also feels like glue when I press my lips together which I don't like.

It does stay put which is the only silver lining I could make out so I had to figure out a way to make it work. If I use a clear lip gloss on top, it looks fine but soon as the gloss fades away, the crumbled base shows up again which means you have to re-touch several times a day! As I said, the base color does stay put well for good amount of time so if you don’t mind re-touching, you might well like it. I tried putting a lip balm both under and over it but that made things even worse; the balm made it crumble into tiny ugly bits over my lip so don’t try that. The one issue I have with the applicator is that it brings out too much product or maybe the thin/runny consistency is to blame here. If you are not careful, you may end up applying it beyond the outline of your lip.

Bottom line: I'm disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Not to mention, it's a pain to remove. You can't get rid of it entirely unless you literally scrub it off.

You might like it if...
  • You expect it to stay put for a good amount of time
  • You expect a semi-opaque coverage
  • You use a clear lip gloss over it
You might not like it if...
  • The cakey/cracked matte finish bothers you
  • You expect it to be non-sticky
  • You find the application difficult due to its thin consistency
  • You expect it to be removed easily
My rating
1.5/5

It's priced $5.95 at Brigette's Boutique.com You can spot Revlon Cosmetics at Target, CVS and Walmart if you live abroad. Folks in Pakistan can get Revlon Cosmetics from EBCO, Scentsation Dolmen City and Agha's Superstore Karachi.

  1. I really disliked its formula too. Very thin emulsion like, just like you said and drying!

  2. I wasn't much of a fan of this product either, it dried my lips out really bad and I also didnt like the overall texture and feel.

Also, Sara I was wondering for your blog photographs do you have a specific light setup for your photos? Like a white table or something, because your photos always look amazing! :)

  5. This is one HORRIBLE product =s I own 3 or 4 shades and they look so deceivingly pretty but when I apply, it's just a mess. It dries as soon as it is applied, enhances every little line on lips and comes off as flakes and is impossible to remove. I can go onnn and on about how pathetic this product is.
