My thoughts
Generally, I prefer shimmer-free lip glosses but lately I've developed a liking for ones with fine shimmer. Speaking of CSP High Intensity Haute Gloss, the range mostly consists of glittery shades but I picked three of them that have slight shimmer – Amore, Audacious and Hippy Spirit. Vegas is the one with visible glitter specs. The shimmer ones are okay, it's Vegas that I'm not happy with; the glitter it has feels gritty and scratchy as I purse my lips which I don't like.

It appears that the range offers various color options but you may obtain more or less the same result with the lighter shades – merely a clear shine with a subtle tint. I believe the name is a bit deceptive as even the dark shade that I have doesn’t offer intense pigmentation or even if it does, it loses its vibrancy within half an hour which is disappointing. I do agree the formula is non-sticky plus the shine is definitely there so these could best be used as an additional layer over the lipstick to add some shine and sparkle. I noticed they have a faint cosmetic scent to them (not repulsive though) with a bit of flavor too which isn’t really detectable unless you lick your lips. About the packaging, I think it pretty much resembles Urban Decay's Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss which is good for a change. The twist-off cap pulls out to reveal a slender doe-foot applicator which is a wee bit too flexible but it can easily follow the contour of your lips which I like.

All things considered, I'm not so crazy about them. The glitter needs to be milled more finely plus the staying power definitely needs improvement. Having said that, it may appeal to you if you have a thing for glitter lip glosses.

You might like it if…
  • You expect semi opaque coverage (from dark shades)
  • You expect it to be non-sticky
  • You try the shades that have shimmer
  • You are okay with the mild scent/taste
  • You think it's pocket-friendly
You might not like it if…
  • You expect the lighter shades to deposit intense color
  • You think the glitter feels gritty
  • You expect a good wear time
My rating

2.5/5

  3. I saw these at Naheed. Didn't like the fact that they were not very opaque and the shimmer was too much.
Very teenager type material, if you know what I mean.
